Smith DNA Matched Group GRP-I-M223-3
Analyzing the matched grouping chart. The following are Smith DNA Project YDNA testers (Smith Official DNA Project at FamilyTreeDNA for ALL Locations) who have either tested at FTDNA or have listed their YDNA markers for comparison on the Smith DNA site. The earliest known sourced ancestor for each group is listed as the primary person on Generation 1.
This doesn't mean that because there are blanks with some other kits before you get to generation 1 that all should have the the same ancestor. Might be, for example, a brother, a cousin, or some other as yet unknown relationship
that could go even further into the past.
Knowing that these match on a significant amount of markers and SNPS does help target and narrow down research leads. You will note that the male Smith name (or other surname that has a very strong match to Smith) is
listed with the birth and death date where known, and also the locations.
Here's what we would like. We are a collaborative project with one big tree (we
use TNG-The Next Generation) and many branches, so would like all who are researching Smith Schmidt Smyth Smythe Smeds Smidt Smithhal et al to join us to sort out these Smith lines but doing it within the realities of DNA. If you have other information, such as additions, corrections, sources, etc,
come join us and add to the community tree
(we welcome all
even if you have not tested DNA. If you are a male Smith of this descent (or any other for that matter) or you are a different surname or female but have a male Smith kin that could YDNA test for you, please
come join the
Smith Official DNA Project at FamilyTreeDNA with a YDNA test.
