Results and REPORTS
|
Lots of info on this site. Think of Smith Official All as being broken up into two main parts-the first part is the
family information and research part; the second is
DNA Reporting and results.
If you are a participant in the Smith
Official All DNA project, you can look at the following
DNA test results reports to see you compare with others who have also
tested. We are the official Smith project for ALL Smiths
of ALL locations at FTDNA; we welcome also anyone from
other vendors, such as Ancestry, Sorenson, Relative
Genetics, etc to
post markers and trees on the site or
do a ydna transfer from another company to FTDNA.
(We ask that you send a line of descent when you post
markers so we can see how to compare you) We are a
volunteer project run entirely by our own funds-the only
money brought in to maintain the site is through google
ads, and we aim to keep it that way. You can find
your specific kit number if you are listed by looking at
the top of just about every page under the black menu
for the Kit # form-put in your kit # and click SEARCH.
That will take you to an *index* page that has any
photos you have submitted, a way to contact you, your
markers, a compare icon that lets you compare your
markers by haplogroup with others (we compare all FTDNA
111 markers- those with markers from other vendors may
only compare on 12 or 25) , a matching group
if you have
been found to match another kit, and your member
profile . If you have any questions about how to
interpret this page, please contact

For the Smith Official DNA Project (All Locations) a minimum
of 25, or better, 37 markers, is strongly recommended. Many times one can appear
to match other kits but the match falls apart after 12 markers. We do not
attempt to match kits into groups on less than 25 with the exception of a strong
paper trail or known family kinship with another tester. Smith Official DNA Project
