  Texas Land Grant-Alexander Smith Harris Ryan paid taxes in 1861 and 1862 on 100 acres that was originally granted to Alexander Smith. This seems to indicate that Alexander moved from Alabama to Texas after 1850. He probably died in Texas before 1860 since his widow is living with her daughter, who married Harris Ryan.

Also, if this was 1825, that would make children born before 1825 with a different mother.
