  • Notes
    • My husband is an exact match on 67 markers with a Wallace, and also a very close match with quite a few other Wallaces, and as such, is also a member of the Wallace DNA Project. He has been placed in Group 4 in that project. This Group 4 includes both Haplogroup I and Haplogroup I2. In discussion with the Wallace administrator, I have learned that those Wallace members in Group 4 who are shown in Haplogroup I have not had deep clade testing done, and those shown as I2 have had deep clade testing.
Here in a link to the Wallace DNA Project:

It seems apparent that there was a NPE at an early date, and that my husband is actually a Wallace instead of a Smith. In discussing this with knowledgeable Wallace researchers, it is believed the NPE may go back into the 1600s.- mtss915
