      James H. Ellison To SC around 1783 and settled on the Saluda River in Ninety-Six District SC with a land grant of 210 acres dated 26 May 1785 (SC Archives Vol 21Q pg 126) His will was adm. 15 Oct 1804 probated 15 Oct 1806 Greenville Co SC (Apt 1 File 2). He sold land on Saluda River on Little Creek 29 Dec 1798. m. Sarah (?Wilson)

      29 Dec 1798 James Allison for L20 sold to William Williamson 85 acres on South Fork of Saluda River on Little Creek Sg: James Allison X, Sarah Allison X Wit: Thomas Jordin, Arris Cox, rec. 24 Jan 1799. Pendleton County SC (Anderson) Conveyance Bk C-D 1795-1799 pg 455.

      James H. Ellison's Rev. War record states that he served one hundred and ninety-one days as a private and Lieutenant during 1780, 1781 and 1782. Roster of SC Patriots in the American Rev. by Bobby G. Moss Stub Entries to Indents Issued in Payment of Claims Against SC. Growing Out of the Rec.--SC Archives James lived about 3 miles southof Shady Grove Baptist Church near his father's land. James bought 180 acres of land in Greenville Co SC in 1798.

      James died intestate in 1804: I Sarah Allison, widow of James Allison dec'd do hereby certify that I have and do renounce my right of adm. on the said deceased estate to Capt George Grace who I desire the Ordinary to appoint. 15 Oct 1804 Sg: Sarah Allison and she received $4.00 in 1806. Eight legates to the estate with none named. Return made through 1817 which indicates minor children. Greenville Co SC Probate Ct Apt 1 File 2.
