Died CWS-, Howard's Grove, Richmond, Va. (23 yrs. old)
54th AL Regiments,
* 54th AL Regiments, POW, John Smith B Jan 8, 1940 Brunson Settlement, Coffee Co., AL- paroled from hospital at Augusta on May 6,1865.
SOURCE: Census of Confederate Soldiers Residing in AL, 1907, No 127. I have a copy of this paperwork.

Sp-Ann E. Brown( 1836 TX?-about 1862, Big Creek, Dale, AL)
William J Smith (7 yrs old) , Daniel U. and George W. were orphans raised by their grandparents ( ?Grandparents were dead by 1862)????
Grandparent (James and Mary) died 1850, 1860. Mother (Ann) died 1862.
Who raised the boys?
* 1898 -- Courthouse burned. All prior records could be lost.

Full Name; SMITH, JOHN  Present Post Office; Bellwood Ala  Was born on Jan 3, 1840 at Brunsey Settlement in the county of Coffee in the state of Ala; First entered the service as private on May 1861 at Coffee Springs Ala in the Co G 59th Ala Reg and continued until paroled from hospital at Augusta Ga May 6, 1865
