The dates on this query seem to the same for Nicholas Smith of Gloucester Co VA. Would like any autosomal testers who are known descendants of Elizabeth Smith/Harry Turner to join the project.

From query:

Am looking for information on Capt Nicholas Smith of Richmond and King George County Virginia d. 1734. Had wife Elizabeth and daughter Elizabeth who married Harry son of Thomas Turner who became Clerk of the Court after the death of Nicholas. Said to have had two other children who died prior to daughter Elizabeth's marriage. Owned Smith's Mount I believe located in Richmond County near Leedstown. Nicholas was son of Nicholas and Efsobah Smith of London. Can you tell me if anyone in the Smith DNA project has ever matched to a Smith family of Nicholas from London or if there is a researcher here who knows about this particular family?

Nicholas did captain a boat and was a merchant. May have some relation to David Sterne and seems to have been learned and was well connected. Was entrusted by Taliaferro family with large chest of valuables in the early 1700's. Have more info but will await your reply. Thanks for any comments or suggestions or if you can alert any researcher to my post.
