Mary Polly Roland burial - where is "the Abbey"?

My informaition for the spouse of James M. Smith:
Mary "POLLY" ROLAND, 1800 NC-1860
(her mother may be a Cooper). Believed to be buried near the Abbey. 

Where is "the Abbey" located? Is it in Abbeville,Al? If so, where?
Does anyone have any information on the Cooper family (found in a message board)? 
I keep any notes that may lead me to the right information until proven wrong.
