from the Knox County Kentucky Museum..... "From James Edward Smith comes a set of books, The Descendants of Samuel Smith and Lucretia Mitchell of Clay and Knox County. The genealogy department is delighted. Mike Mills said that the book filled in some holes in his research and genealogy staff Patricia Gambrel found relatives as well. The set will be placed in the locked genealogy room as soon as cataloged. Thanks again. James E. Smith early in September donated another of his genealogy studies in the same format as the above set, which will be of strong local interest—The Carnes Family of Southeast Kentucky, with Family Lines of Baker, Bingham, Callihan, Gambrel, Messer, Mills, Smith and More, 2 volumes, 2021. In 2020 Mr. Smith placed a copy of his The Descendants of Jabel Smith and Rhoda Swafford, all printed by Barnes and Noble Press. Mr. Smith wrote the museum, “I chose purposely not to Copyright to allow free copying.” The volumes may be examined in the museum’s genealogy room during regular hours.
