One of the matches for Group GRP-R-M269-16 not only matches on YDNA but also on the tree line from James Smith b 1783 d Russell County Virginia married Sarah Counts. The match has been invited a couple of times to join the Smith DNA Project but has not, and it is always entirely optional to belong to any project. This is to be aware that a YDNA male descendant of James Smtih m Sarah Counts matches another descendant through won William Patton Smith m Matilda Kiser, just do not have this one listed in DNA group because he is not a project member. Would like if you are a descendant of James Smith m Sarah Counts for you to come join the project, best if you are a male Smith (ie, your last name is Smith) of this group and would consider doing YDNA OR, if you have done autosomal testing and have a strong line, come join so we can compare. Note that the member for William Patton Smith would like to confirm that James' parents are William Patton Smith and Elizabeth Massie. if you have any information about this couple that would help solve this riddle, please chime in. |
