Conflict re: James Cuddy Smith b 1760 NC- father to Jonathan Smith? Does not seem so
Jonathan Smith Smith DNA Matched Group GRP-I-M253-5 Posted by smithsworldwide in Smith DNA Group Discussion GRP-I-M253-5 on May 4, 2024 Views:(319) Replies (0) PostID:3515 Please Login/Register to reply to this topic Got in a new member recently that has James Cuddy Smith b 1760 NC m Martha Parham as the ancestor. Location was, around 1840 at his time of death, Montgomery Co NC. Haplogroup for that member is R-M269 and matches are to Group GRP-R-M259-191. There is no indication that Jonathan Smith, who was also in Montgomery Co NC, is the son of James C Smith, and just as important is that the two members who did YDNA have a differen haplogroup I-M53. Although Jonathan lives in an early census near Green Smith, who is from James Cuddy, there is no indication that Jonathan is a son of James, but what is needed for a dispute is a source that shows otherwise. Thanks to descendant of James Cuddy who researches him and recommended a lookout. In looking at Jonathan Smith again, there are no names of children named James, but there is a Reuben. Could this son be named after the Reuben who was early on in Montgomery Co NC and if you are a descendant of same, come join the project. Some YDNA possibilities for other children from Jonathan. (in blue). Jonathan Smith [1] b. 1801 Montgomery County, North Carolina, USA d. 1873 Montgomery County, North Carolina, USA
