Just a quick note that updates from your submissions to this project will be a little slow this week. FamilyTreeDNA is in process of adding YDNA haplogroups for those who have done an autosomal test and qualify. Am updating the information for each branch on the project site, checking the groups to see that they are updated AS I SEE THE UPDATE FROM FTDNA, checking in case someone had not sent a tree when originally asked and if have done so, updating that, and looking for any new matches. All of this takes time. Yesterday morning, I had been at about 7 things to work on, which included a couple of trees and 2 new members and incoming is about 40 new haplogroup changes from FTDNA. Keep in mind if this affects you, that if you are a Smith and did not do a YDNA test with STRs, you will not be matched into a group but you will be able to see your haplogroup on the branch page for you if you have submitted a tree.

Also decided as long as I was updating and checking the people who match into a group, to take the extra step to update the YSAPP chart associated with that FTDNA haplogroup change. If you would like to see your own matched group updated, send an email to info@smithsworldwide.org but, hah, would like it you do it next week when not so swamped.

My mother's Smith first cousin tested at the Big Y level at FTDNA and is kit #8941 (I manage his kit there, since he passed away). So my Smith family line and Charles Henry Smith's line are r....read more.....
