He his living with his wife Susan(32) and children, Oscar(10), Sherman(08), Diantha(06), Francis(04), Victoria(02), Ambrose(6months) and Horatio Pastters(15).

Information from the 1875 New York State census shows that Daniel and Susan are operating a 128acre farm in Moira, New York. The farm is made up of 100 acres of improved land and a 28 acre of wood lot. The farm has a value of $5,000. The farm buildings are valued at $580, the stock at $800, tools at $200, and grain at $400. In 1875 they had 20 plowed acres, 60 acres in pastures, and 20 acres in hay meadows. They planted four acres of corn that produced 160 brushes of corn. They also had three acres of potatoes that produced 300 brushes of potatoes. They had an apple orchard with 100 trees that produced 75 brushes of apples and one barrel of cider. Daniel and Susan produced 400 pounds of maple sugar and five gallons of maple molasses. Daniel had two heifers, seven cows, two bulls and two working oxen. They produced 1050 pounds of butter in 1874.
By 1900 Daniel B. Smith(88) is living with his wife Susan(82). They had 10 children with eight still living. He is living next door to his son Hulbert Smith and two houses from his daughter Diantha Smith.
The 1910 US census shows Susan A. Smith(92) living with her daughter Francis Smith in Stockholm, New York. Daniel and Susan Smith are buried in the Moria Cemetery, Moria, Franklin Co, New York.
