• Documents		Texas Land Grant-Alexander Smith Harris Ryan paid taxes in 1861 and 1862 on 100 acres that was originally granted to Alexander Smith. This seems to indicate that Alexander moved from Alabama to Texas after 1850. He probably died in Texas before 1860 since his widow is living with her daughter, who married Harris Ryan.

Att: A. C. DICKERSON Signed by: Alexd SMITH {Seal}; Barnard VANDEEN [VANDIRRIN] {Seal}; Luther HILL ****don't know if this is the same, except that Patsy is the familiar name for Margaret. Also, if this was 1825, that would make children born before 1825 with a different mother. On looking at the census, this cannot be the Alexander Smith found in 1830 in Morgan Co AL as there is, near Bernard Vanderin, Alexander Smith (an older man than Alexander Smith b 1790) near him in 1830 Bourbon Co KY. Could this be the same Alexander Smith?
