    • Dr. Claude A. Smith was a veterinarian born in Indiana on January 30, 1913. He died on February 15, 2005 in Hyattsville, Maryland. His obit is in the Washington Post along with a picture of him and the Chinese Pandas. He married Geraldine E. Pruden on August 11, 1941 in Adrian, Michigan.

      His father was Audrey L. Smith married to Esta M. Hummon of Lipsic, Ohio. He died in the early 1950s and is buried with Esta and his father and uncle in Morenci, Michigan.

      His father was George Hempleton Smith married to Sara E Davis. He was born around 1861. He and Sara appear on the 1880 census in Morgan, Knox, Ohio. At the time Claude was born, they too were living in Indiana.

      George?s father, William S. Smith appears on the 1870 and the 1860 census in Eden, Licking, Ohio. He was married to Christeana or Christeann. Both were 37 in 1860.
