Rev William Thomas Smith went from Grainger Co TN to Benton County, Missouri. Believed to be son of George Smith b 1780 VA m Alexandria Martin but need a YDNA tester to prove this (George Smith is supposed to have married A Martin in 1812 in Wilson Co TN but William Thomas Smith is supposed to have been born in 1809 in Benton Co MO. IF ACCURATE, and would appreciate additional sources if anyone has them, then W T's mother would probaboly not be Alexanria Martin.

We do have a YDNA tester for Rev William Thomas Smith's line and his results put him into the group fro Nicholas Smith b 1697 Gloucester Co VA Smith DNA Project at FamilyTreeDNA Matched Grouping GRP-E-M2_-3 -Nicholas smith b 1697 Gloucester Co VA (Francis/Nicholas) -Haplogroup(E-M2) : Smith DNA Big Tree - Smith DNA Project at FamilyTreeDNA - Official/All Locations (smithsworldwide.org) Would like to find a second YDNA tester just from this line to confirm the baseline. Have also asked this new member if she has done any type of DNA and/or has any male Smith kin that might consider doing a YDNA test.

Who was William Thomas Smith b 1809 TN*s father?

William T Smith was in 1850 Fristoe, Benton, MO. So was the widow of George Smith, Alexandra Ally Smith-her son Thomas G (for Ganns?) Smith was living with her. Have seen different parentage for George. Would like to see the following line test YDNA 1. Descendant of Charlss Smith in the household of son Champ Smith in 1850 Miller Co MO. Josiah Smith had a son Charles but it's not clear to me that this is the same line, nor that it is the ancestor of William T Smith
