      Robert Smith, 53

Robert "Smitty" Smith, 53, of Londonderry, N.H. and Greensboro, N.C., died unexpectedly on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2009.

He was a 7th generation resident of Londonderry and the son of the late Ernest W. and Ruth Burroughs Smith. Smitty worked as a project superintendent, managing site development and building construction for R.L. Spencer, Inc., a construction management firm.

For many years Smitty was a member of (and Chairman for) the Londonderry Planning Board. He loved the Red Sox, baseball, playing pool and coaching his kids in sports. He also enjoyed music, the outdoors, riding his Harley and chasing the sun, especially to Key West.

He is survived by four children, Ryan, April, Ami and Zachary Smith, all of Londonderry, his fiance, Amy Jacobson of Greensboro, N.C., a sister, Jane Vickery of Pembroke, N.H., his former wife, Kathleen Morin Smith of Londonderry, and a niece, nephew, cousins and extended family.
