ANDREW "ANDY" E. BALLENTINE I enlisted in Co E. Reg. 1 SC Battalion of Infantry under Captain Press Smith on April 1862 and served in that command until the 27 April 1865. I was discharged at Greensboro NC 27 April 1865 and was at that time a member of Co E Reg. 1st SC Inft. My income and my wife's from all sources is not in excess of $100.00. The valuation of all my property does not exceed $2000.00. I was born 27 May 1839. I reside at Easley in Pickens Co SC. Sg: Andrew E. Ballentine 20 Oct 1919.
Estate of Richard Ballentine adm. 2 Feb 1863 by Mrs Nancy Balentine, James Ellison, Osborn Mauldin all bound unto W.E. Holcomb, Ordinary for $3,000.00. Richard Ballentine left a widow and five children VIZ: Nancy, Albert C., Andrew E., James A., William C., Mary A. Ballentine who married D.W.T. Johnston and rec. $25.36 the 19 Nov 1870. Richard Balentine owned 30 acres of land on Brushy Creek adj. lands of H.C. Briggs and B. Day.
